StayWell Senior Care (PACE Program)
Caring for a loved one as they get older can be a challenge. Sometimes it can be overwhelming and cause the caregiver to start having health problems as well. That’s why in the early 1970s, the PACE model of care was developed. PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) provides an alternative to nursing home placement. It allows individuals in need of skilled nursing care to remain in their home or community setting and receive quality care from a team of clinical experts.
There are so many reasons I like coming to StayWell, but the socialization with others means so much to me. Participants share in at least two major activities a day. I also do word searches, coloring, fill-ins, as well as physical therapy (I ride a stationary bike). Even the bus ride to and from the Center is enjoyable.
My health care has improved by the medical monitoring of my individual needs from diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and more. My dental needs, eye care, and foot care have been met. We have the finest doctor, nurses, and CNAs on staff, and they take care of my needs.
I enjoy a snack each day I come and a full lunch. The dietitian is trying to teach me portion control. Ha! The food is good! The company is great! I have a wonderful time at StayWell..
